Most of the area this morning could have had lots of ducks flying, but it would have been hard to see them in the fog. There were some good spots from the reports we’ve gotten, but most of the hunting was poor. We had some pretty good shooting and the three of us got 16 ducks, but we didn’t see much more. We went to a new field that hadn’t been hunted. I think that’s why we got those. It’s kind of funky out there. We head into the last weekend of the first split with high hopes for a better second split. Duck hunters are like that, though. Always optimistic.
Weather looks a little tough this weekend with more cloudy skies and some rain. Hopefully the ducks will fly before and after the rain. There aren’t any new ducks in the area so maybe the weather change will bring some that don’t know where every blind in northeast Louisiana is! Be safe out there.
