Well, it was a bit better today than most days recently, but that still isn’t saying a lot. There were enough birds flying to keep it interesting. We had a group that killed 14 in one blind. We spent a lot of time today riding the farm and looking for ducks. We’ve got some big hunts planned for the final weekend and want to make sure we are leaving no stone unturned to take advantage of the ducks we’ve got. There are still a lot of teal flying and a big mix of big ducks. We aren’t seeing pintails and mallards and it looks like we won’t see but a few.
It was frozen up again in some places this morning and that makes it a challenge, plus the wind wasn’t right to really make them work. We’re hopeful of a good end to the season. One thing’s for sure, you won’t kill ’em if you don’t get out there and try.
Be safe. Stay warm.
