Saturday brought back something that has been missing a while through all the dry weather. The true meaning of gumbo mud. The slow rain turned many duck hunting areas into much and there’s nothing like gumbo to make a mess. So you know if we are talking about mud, it wasn’t a great duck hunting day.
Some folks killed them. A lot of folks stayed home. The weather wasn’t pretty to start off the second week of the first split. But we’ve still got ducks and hopefully they will fly better the next few days. Also, it’s a good bet that the southerly winds will bring us more, especially teal.
You’ll never know unless you go. Stay safe out there.
