Day 10: A better day

PICT2213There were a lot more ducks flying early this morning, but they fizzled out pretty quickly. We ended up killing 15, mostly gadwalls.

It’s still pretty dreary duck hunting weather with the rain and clouds and we just can’t get a good wind. Those are key for us to have success. Plus the number of birds are down from last year. I think Wednesday may be the day it turns around as this front gets on through, it’s colder and we should have some wind.

We had good reports from down on Hwy. 15 as well. The thing we’ll have to watch now is that the ducks may realize things are quiet up in Arkansas and head back up that way. The Arkansas split closed Sunday. Our first split in the East Zone in Louisiana closes this Sunday. Maybe we’ll have a run here the last few days of the first split.

Don’t forget to come by the store and get your gear before you head to the field or woods. Let us know how we can help you.  Be safe out there.
