Day 2: Another good day!

When we went to bed Saturday night, I was kind of thinking it would be lightning and pouring down rain Sunday morning, and to tell the truth, I probably wasn’t going in all that. But when we got up, it wasn’t even raining, so we headed out and I’m glad we did. We were hunting with a group of nine people in a big blind and by 8:45, we had 54 ducks.

It did start raining on us about 7, but we had a good roof and the ducks were flying like crazy. Today we shot mostly teal and gadwalls and that’s pretty much what everybody else I talked to did. They had some really good shooting down around Hwy. 15 in Monroe. Reports from Jones and Mer Rouge were the same.

The mallards just didn’t fly early like they did yesterday, probably because of the weather. This is looking like a good week weatherwise with clear skies and moderate temperatures.

Give them a try.
