Thursday was a foul day weatherwise for chasing waterfowl. If you didn’t get in some shooting early, it probably wasn’t worth the effort to get the mud off. But, as usual, we did hear some good reports. There is always somebody going and we have enough ducks to make it worthwhile if you are in the right place at the right time.
I didn’t go out and get in it Thursday morning. It’s one thing to go out and get wet, but it’s another thing entirely to go get drowned. That’s what it would have been like this morning. It should be cleared up and have a little wind by Friday morning. We’ve got some people including some of the Realtree folks in to go Friday I’m looking forward to it. One of my farmers called and said a whole bunch of ducks came in with that rain. One field was covered up with ducks, so we are changing plans and going there.
Should be a decent weekend weather wise, so if you haven’t been, get out there and give it a shot.
Our Drake Waterfowl gear is some of the most popular gear in the store. If you need to get some to stay warm and dry for the end of the season, check us out at Simmons’ Sporting Goods. Stay tuned for the latest reports. We’re hoping for a late season push of ducks that will really finish off the season with a bang.
