Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance. . .the five stages of grief. They are are brought on by 65 degree weather, cloudy mornings and water covering up half the duck hunting world, scattering what few ducks we have all over the place.

Those stages of grief?  I’m in stage four as far as duck season goes. It’s depressing out there. But I will not get to stage five – acceptance. I’m still holding out for ducks after this upcoming cold front. I won’t be able to accept anything else.

I guess we are spoiled around here, but that’s okay. We are supposed to be.

It’s still so slow out there are lot of us are laying off for a few days. It’s a good time to make sure your blind is in good shape, do a little cleaning up and make sure your gun and shell supply are in order. They are going to come. I hope.

Stay tuned. We’ll keep you up on the latest.
