Day 47: Hunters report “so so” day

It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t a bust either. That’s the best way to describe duck hunting today. Or as some said, it’s just “so so”. We had a few ducks, but they would work and get down close to the decoys, then just float away. There was no wind and I hate to sound like a broken record, but it’s the same thing — no wind, a gray day and the same old ducks. We killed 12 ducks and two geese IMG_0324and had to leave fairly early. The wind picked up around noon for hunters who stuck it out, but by then it was too late and there weren’t any ducks flying then.

Things should be different Tuesday. They are predicting a 14 MPH wind and it is going to be cold again, just below freezing. That could be a good combination, even if we don’t have new ducks.

Everybody I talked to today said about the same thing. They killed 7 or 8, or maybe 10-12 ducks. Maybe we’ll have a better report tomorrow.
