Wednesday was a beautiful day that started with a picture perfect sunrise! We probably saw 10% of the ducks this morning that we’ve been seeing, but those ducks worked really well. We only made a short hunt, but killed 24. It was a good morning. Sun popped out and the wind was blowing.
I’m proud to report that my daughter Lindsey Roberts got her first greenhead mallard this morning! She’s been hunting with us and working hard at it. She made a great shot.
Others around the area are seeing lots of ducks. Lots of big ducks. I expect the next few days we will have lots of hunters out with the holidays and that should really keep the birds moving.
Nothing but good reports from south Arkansas still. There are loads of ducks up there. Hopefully they’ll continue to come on down this way. A lot of our birds have been holding in the area. Water is still the key, but there’s a lot more than there was a couple of weeks ago.
It’s been a great start to the season and there’s lots more good to come. Always put safety first in the duck blind.
