We promised you a duck report every day of the season and we’ve delivered. But it isn’t easy this year. It’s a very bad year. Many of the duck reports aren’t good ones. Here on Day 50, there is not much to report. Today was an absolutely lousy day. Rainy. Cloudy. Lousy.
Friday morning, we may wake to icy conditions or some snow. It will be extremely cold this weekend and every state north of us may be frozen up. And we’ve got water everywhere.
But the question remains: Will it bring more ducks our way for the last week of the season????
I’m still optimistic but it’s guarded. Things could change this weekend. We could see bunches of ducks. Or, the ducks that come could scatter in so many directions because of the thousands of acres of water. We don’t know. Check out the map below. It’s the latest forecast for Thursday night at 1 a.m. Of course, this is a forecast. It could be worse, or not as bad. But it looks like something’s sweeping through. Blue is snow. Purple is ice/sleet. Because the temperatures are above freezing, there shouldn’t be any sticking, but you never know. We’ll keep bringing you what we know. Hang in there with them. Stay tuned.
