Day 54: They disappeared again
I just don’t know what is going on. We went to a field yesterday morning at 9 a.m. and saw more than 500 mallards through our binoculars. We went back there today and maybe saw one mallard.
We did kill nine — four teal, four pintails and one gadwall. It was tough. We didn’t see a lot of ducks flying and we didn’t hear much shooting. Of course, there aren’t a lot of people hunting on Monday usually.
It was pretty exciting for a couple of minutes. We had a group of nine pintails come in together and we got four out of the group in one volley. But that was it.
We will just have to scratch it out the rest of this season I think.
Be safe out there.
