The temperature gauge read 22 degrees at daylight, but the north wind chill factor made it feel like 12 degrees, compounded by the fact there were very few ducks, which dropped the “feels like” temperature to somewhere around six degrees. And it will be colder Saturday.

The key message there: Still no ducks. We’ve got time for a few more to migrate south, but we are nearing the final week of the season, so they better make it quick. It was frozen up where we were today and will be worse tomorrow. Only the deep holes will have open water. There were a few pintails killed that we heard about, but that was it.
