There weren’t a lot of ducks Saturday morning, but we had a good hunt. It was iced up pretty bad and locked up in a lot of areas. We were in a good spot and got a mixed bag of 24 ducks. We were fortunate to do that the way things are. We were honored to have Bill Jordan, owner of Realtree, and his son, Colton, hunting with us this morning.
This has been a crazy season and just as you could expect, the last day tomorrow won’t be any different. I’m not sure what the duck situation will be, but the weather continues to drive us bonkers. And now, the high Sunday afternoon is predicted to be 70 degrees after we saw ice on the water today and temps in the 20’s all week. Go figure.
We’ve got one day to go. Good, bad or ugly, don’t miss your last chance at ducks this season. You don’t have to put everything up yet after Sunday. Duck season will be over, but there can still be some good shooting and fun in the upcoming conservation goose season if you are interested in that. Check out all the season dates and regulations in the state hunting pamphlet and go get ’em.
And as usual, come by to see us for all your sporting goods needs at Simmons’ Sporting Goods in Bastrop!
