Quite a few folks took advantage of today’s final day of the first split. Count us among them. We didn’t do real well, but we fought through the fog and killed some ducks. Hopefully a little rain and cooler weather during the downtime will bring some more ducks in and the ones we’ve got will start feeling more comfortable and not be so wary.
A lot of hunters seemed to do pretty well this morning, but they had to work for it. Others didn’t report much luck. Again, just like the rest of the first split, a lot of it has to do with available water. We had a lot of teal the first split, too. That kept the action from being real slow.
Keep your blind in shape and your gun ready. The second split will be here before you know it.
