One week.

That’s how long we’ve got to get geared up and ready to go for opening morning of duck season in Louisiana’s East Zone. The East season opens up Saturday, Nov. 21 and runs through Dec. 6 for the first split. The second split is Dec. 19 – Jan. 31.

Screen Shot 2014-11-22 at 2.56.30 PMAnd don’t forget – Saturday Nov. 14, is the Youth Waterfowl hunt in the East zone. Check the rules and regulations and make sure you have the proper licenses before you go hunting!

Daily Bag Limits:  The daily bag limit on ducks is 6 and may include no more than 4 mallards (no more than 2 of which may be females), 2 canvasback, 1 mottled duck, 1 black duck, 3 wood ducks, 3 scaup, 2 redheads, and 2 pintails.

Goose Report: We’ve seen tons of geese for weeks and lots of hunters have taken limits every day in the early goose season. Things slowed down a little bit after the front earlier this week, but they’ll be more coming. Stay ready.

Above all — be safe out there.
