The second split of duck season opens Saturday and we’ve been getting mixed reports of ducks in the area. Quite a few folks have seen lots of ducks, plenty to last several days at the first of the split opening. Others, though, haven’t seen much of anything.
With all this water and temperatures in the 70’s, it’s no surprise that we aren’t wrapped up in ducks. The ducks just haven’t come down. Heck, it’s 75 degrees up in Iowa. But another good sign is the fact that they have been having some good success in Arkansas. And I don’t mean north Arkansas. Hunters have been pretty successful around Wilmot, Parkdale and Eudora up until today after that storm. They have had a good many mallards, too.
We will have daily reports for you once the second split opens back up. Come by the store and let us know how you are doing.
Be safe out there.
